Whether you have SCADA, OMS or DMS, below are some optional applications that can be added system.
Automatic Generation Control (AGC)
AGC is a feedback control system that regulates the power output of electric generators within your control area so as to maintain scheduled system frequency and/or power interchange within predetermined limits. Includes Economic Dispatch, Reserves Monitoring, and Interchange Scheduling.
Command Sequencing is an easy-to-use high-level programming language which is specifically designed to be used with Survalent systems. It allows you to define and execute programs which use database points as variables. Command Sequence programs can be used for calculations, open-loop control or switching sequences and for closed-loop control.
Survalent's Control Panel allows you have an IED represented by an image of the IED's front panel, on which dynamic elements are superimposed. These dynamic elements not only display current values of the points in the IED, but also allow you to issue controls and set-points.
For bi-directional transcribing of SCADA data into relational databases. Target databases that are supported are Microsoft Access, SQL Server, Sybase, and Oracle. The type of data that can be transcribed includes: current values, historical data, operation messages (including alarms), and event logs (including SOE).
This functionality monitors changes to all analog and status points periodically, defines events that trigger disturbance data captures, monitors disturbance triggers and generates disturbance capture files.
Event Data Recording
Event Data Recording records all status changes, operator controls and Sequence of Events (SOE) data. Non-SOE events are time-stamped to the nearest second. SOE events are stamped to the nearest 1 millisecond (subject to the capabilities of the RTU).
External Alarm Bell
External Alarm Bell is for operations under noisy conditions. The application can control (activate/de-activate) several different external alarm bells based on alarm priorities for any of the different alarm zone groups.
Fault Data Recorder
Fault Data Recorder program is an application that you can use to upload and record fault data from SEL relays. The application consists of a Fault Recorder editor and an executive program. The editor allows you to identify fault data points as well as other points and parameters that are involved in the process of retrieving the fault data. The executive program does the actual retrieval (i.e. detection, uploading and storage) in cooperation with the scan task.
IED Wizard is a tool that automates the creation of the database points for supported IEDs. The database points are created for the SCADA system, and the mapping can be automatically downloaded to the RTU for an IED that is slaved to a Scout. Users can create their own templates, or use one of the existing Survalent developed templates.
Master/Slave Alarm Suppression
Master/Slave Alarm Suppression allows a defined hierarchy of primary/secondary (master/slave) alarm point relationships. These relationships may be used for either alarm suppression or group acknowledgement, or both.
Mobile Crew Manager (MCM)
The Mobile Crew Manager application provides field crews with instant access to their work assignments, using a tablet or laptop browser. Mobile users can view and update, jobs, tickets and outage cases. Operations and dispatch teams can improve decision-making through visibility into real-time service status. Utility management benefits from lower field service costs, while improving restoration times and customer service.
The web-based MCM can be operated even in areas without wireless coverage. Once back online, information is automatically synchronized with Survalent ONETM OMS, to provide control room staff with the latest information.
The OMS Dashboard application integrates outage data from multiple sources into a single consolidated view, with real-time visualization, for sharing across the organization. Situational awareness can be higher for any employee, without requiring additional communications effort by the control-centre staff, particularly during storms. OMS Dashboard is available in Lobby and Mobile/Desktop versions.
Users gain easy, fast access, to the latest outage and network status, including location and customer information, for each outage case. The Dashboard presents KPIs, outage call volume and distribution, and reliability indices, in tabular and graphics form. Users can customize the dashboard to meet their requirements.
Features and Benefits
*Mobile users require login. Supports LDAP authentication.
Operations & Outage Accounting
The Operations and Outage Accounting function is based on the Event Data Recording facility. The event data recording facility records all status changes and control operations in an event data file capable of storing events for up to 30 days. Every night at midnight, an accounting program scans the previous day's event data to generate that day's accounting information. Special-purpose report programs produce operations and outage reports. An equipment editor allows you to define the devices for which you want operation and/or outage accounting.
Operator Training Simulator (OTS)
Operator Training Simulator (OTS) consists of a second independent copy of the SCADA system operating with simulation programs instead of scan tasks. The OTS system provides facilities that allow the instructor to maintain many different copies of the database to select any of these to use for a training session and to execute multiple simultaneously running event scripts. Protection Settings Manager (PSM)
The Protection Settings Manager application employs a rules-based approach to help operations teams maintain the appropriate settings in protection relays network-wide. Devices can be deployed faster with less effort.
PSM is a standalone application, or an add-on for the Fault Location, Isolation and Service Restoration (FLISR) and Loss of Voltage (LOV) applications.
Remote Alarm Annunciation
The ability to send an e-mail, paging, SNMP, and SMS text message for specified alarms. The user can define which points are annunciated in this fashion, and for each point, which alarms (e.g., which states for a status point and which limits for analog point). When using SMS text messaging, alarm can be remotely acknowledged using a password.
A Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access option allows the user to export current and historical data from the SCADA system into Excel. All point data fields (not just values) are available to export. The menu commands are available from the standard menu bar within MS Excel or MS Access. SCADA Add-in is compatible with: MS Windows 98, 2000, XP, Vista, and Windows 7; MS Office 98, 2000, XP, 2003, and 2007.
STC Replicator & Archiver
Real-time replication of the SCADA database to SQL. Replicator is plug-n-play, no fields to setup, and maintenance free. The entire database is replicated and made available in SQL for access by other systems or applications. SCADA Replicator is one-way, which provides added security for customers that do not require bi-direction data flow. Download brochure (pdf)
Switch Orders & Guarantees
A switch order is a sequence of steps involving both switching operations and tags that produce conditions for which a guarantee may be issued. Each switch order can contain up to 200 steps. Guarantees are database forms that allow you to define, issue and surrender condition guarantees complete with tags. (Guarantees are also commonly known as clearances.) Each guarantee can have up to 50 tags associated with it. Download brochure (pdf)

Features and Benefits
Topology processor calculates the energized/de-energized status of electric, gas and water line sections, and displays them on world maps. The calculation is based on the topology of the distribution system and the current status of breakers and valves. For an electrical line section, the system supports 3-phase distribution, and computes the status of each phase independently, such that line sections that are downstream of non-ganged switching devices may contain a mix of energized and de-energized phases. The user can specify colors for "partially energized" or "partially looped" etc. Topology Processor includes a feeder trace function that allows the user to select a trace color and have the extent of a feeder highlighted in the selected trace color. Multiple simultaneous traces in different colors are supported. Download brochure (pdf)
Virtual RTU application allows for quick and easy setup of a virtual device that can be polled by another master station via DNP3 and MODBUS protocols. Points are easily added to the Virtual RTU with the Drag-n-Drop Point Browser. Complete data-sets can be created and assigned to multiple Virtual RTUs. This means that the same data can easily be sent to more than one client system without having to maintain duplicate data-set definitions for each Virtual RTU. Download brochure (pdf)
